Lesson Plans are the key to teaching.
Studying at the College of Saint Rose, I knew would be the best for me because it is mostly an education school. Since I am an elementary education major, I have been through most of the education courses already. And from my stand point, i have realized that lesson plans and unit plans and how you create them are what is going to decide if you really want to be a teacher in the future or not. Lesson plans are these pain in the butt writing assignments. You have to use the Saint Rose rubric in how to write a lesson plan and make sure you have every single part on the rubric in you lesson. Here is a lesson that I created and used in one of my unit plans that I received a 4 out of 4 on. After reading over this lesson plan, I want you to sit and think for a moment. Imagine writing 10 of these just to fit into ONE unit. Then reevaluate yourself and if you want to become a teacher or not. I did, and I still want to do what I love, and that is teach.
